Military Housing Privatized Meeting Change The Military Privatization Initiative Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement public hearing and open information session has been rescheduled from its original date of August 4, 2008, to a new date of August 26, 2008, at the same time and location, the Hurlburt Soundside Club, Hurlburt Field at 6:00PM. The public comment period will run through September 22, 2008.
Pink Water Events Dons Bayou In Fort Walton Beach has been having a recurrence of pink water events, which in July of 2006 consisted of Raphidophyte, Microfaunal bloom, Hermisenium Adriaticum, and Fibrocapsa Japonica. Cheryl Bunch of DEP will hopefully be able to perform a test the next time the pink water event occurs.

The U.S. Air Force, through Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, has prepared a
Draft Environmental Impact Statement that analyzes potential environmental
consequences associated with the implementation of the Eglin Base
Realignment and Closure 2005 decisions and related actions that involve
establishment of the Joint Strike Fighter Initial Joint Training Site and
relocation of the U.S. Army 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) from Fort
